WOOD

INTERCEPTOR thin-laminated wood

This is our flagship model, regarded as one of the most complete spearguns on the market, made from 30 layers of thin-laminated, epoxy-impregnated timber and additionally reinforced with composite fiber laminates in the core.

The wooden INTERCEPTOR comes in two effective lengths (100 and 110), capable of carrying 7.5-8mm shafts and covers a wide range of hunting styles. Due to its incredible range and accuracy, while being very easy to handle, it is widely used in both shallow/deep for stalking and ambush hunting.

Both models support mounting rubber bands in following order:

- Main pair – up to 20mm – invert-loaded
- 2nd band – up to 18mm – directly loaded
- 3rd band – up to 18mm – directly loaded

If not in stock, maximum delivery period is 6 weeks from the order placement

We ship our spearguns fully equipped (delivered in a protective travel case) and tailored to each customer’s preferences.

The barrel of the wooden INTERCEPTOR is machined with maximum 20g tolerance on total weight, to achieve optimal buoyancy (light negative muzzle) with 7.5mm shaft.

We developed most of the assembly parts in-house and we carefully select our trusted partners for supplying only internally approved components. Additional cavity in the muzzle and handle for adjustment.

VISION

CRAFTING A BETTER
SPEARGUN

We based the development on an in-depth understanding of the hunting methods and our desire for constant improvement. We went the extra mile to maximize the functionality of the INTERCEPTOR anatomy with one objective in mind: »Harmonize the speargun with the hunter

The design of the INTERCEPTOR sprouted from focusing on optimizing the pulleys and rubber bands action. The new profile was shaped to account for the hydrodynamics which act from all directions with the point of balance shifted closer to the handle for better handling and control.

HOW IT'S
MADE

The inverted roller system allows for extremely efficient utilization of the energy through the most uniform stretching path of the rubber bands. We improved the system to achieve a minimal loss of energy and optimal contraction of the rubber bands at the moment of shooting. This is done through our careful design and positioning of the crucial elements that transmit power to the spearshaft. The amount of energy transmitted depends on how well those elements interact and our focus on efficiency brings them together as one unit. The outcome is a smooth and more powerful shot with less recoil.

The advanced design requires 5-axis CNC machining in order to apply all concepts to a complete monocoque structure, including handle. The epoxy-impregnated block enters a 6-hour treatment phase…

FEATURES

UNIQUE FEATURES OF INTERCEPTOR

The INTERCEPTOR is constructed with 30 laminates glued under high pressure using industrial grade marine epoxy. Our process results in a monoblock with unmatched structural properties.

T-structure Reinforcement – We further enhanced the stability of the body by using T-structure construction in the cross section. This strengthens the physical integrity of the body, supporting higher loads at lower mass and improves hydrodynamics of our speargun.

Body-integrated Bands – We have improved hydrodynamics by introducing full body-integrated bands. The INTERCEPTOR design responds to the full 360-degree environment and smoothly adjusts to changes in flow direction and force.

Optimal Weight and Balance – Attention was paid to obtaining the optimal mass at the existing buoyancy. The laminates are treated with laser technology to enhance both structure and balance. This reduces recoil and with support of other features (thin lamination and T-structure) the accuracy is dramatically improved.

Effective Design – The rubber bands are positioned to have a direct stretching path which was designed for each band individually and utilizing the total span from the muzzle to the handle.

Responsive Fixators – Our custom-developed fixators provide one-touch band release and faster reloading

Guided Reel Line – The INTERCEPTOR speargun accommodates the body-integrated bands securely, allowing it to combine with our unique reel line guide through the muzzle channel. They remain protected when stalking fish over rough terrain.

Smooth Winding Extension – The conical extension underneath the speargun provides smoother winding of the reel line without snagging. This enables reel locking with no interference of the line with the bands.

Improved visibility – The spear shaft is locked at the front end without the use of the shooting line, effectively reducing the assembly time. In conjunction with the stopper plates’ functionality to lock in the lower barb, we cleared the line-of-sight down the spearshaft for unobstructed target visibility.

Efficient Force Transmission – The force transmission has been optimized for better energy transfer and faster start. With our design, the auxiliary “kicker” band is a thing of the past. The position of the main bearings minimizes the angle of the pulley line on the spearshaft. Through our newly developed bearings’ design (made of carbon-infused PEEK composite), we increased the functionality to keep the line tension centered on the axis, thus effectively reducing friction.

Advanced Stopper Plates – The unique design of our newly developed stopper plates overcomes the shortcomings of standard stopper systems. They are designed for lateral fixing of the pulley line during loading and no need for load assist. The system provides a smooth line motion when shooting and effectively eliminates risk of trapping the shooting line.

Durable, Replaceable Spares – We have designed the INTERCEPTOR speargun so that the consumable spare parts are especially long-lived and durable. They are easily replaceable when they wear out.
